A Light in the Distance

My bedroom window faces the ski resort, and in the middle of the night I can see tiny lights migrating across the mountain– machines grooming the ski runs. It has the affect on me of making me feel not alone. Even in Wyoming, even in the dead of winter, even in the dead of night.

Moment of Gratitude: That’s all we ever need, a light in the distance. Maybe not even our own light, but a friend’s, a community member’s, close enough to share. Giving us hope. Grooming the future, reincarnating the past.
